Local Senior Living Tour Gives Families an Opportunity to Compare Communities, Ask Questions, and Make More Informed Decisions
FREE educational bus tour helps older adults and their families explore senior living options across Northern Kentucky
Choosing the right senior living community can feel overwhelming for older adults and their families. To help make the process easier, Celebration Villa of Summit Hills is partnering with several local senior living communities to host the 2026 Senior Living Tour, a free educational bus tour designed to give attendees firsthand experience exploring different senior living options in one day.
The tour will take place on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, departing at 8:00 a.m. from the Independence Senior Center. Participants will visit multiple senior living communities throughout the region, including Celebration Villa of Summit Hills, Celebration Villa of Highland Crossing, Madonna Manor, Fields of Florence, Spring Arbor of Florence, and Legacy Living.
Unlike a traditional sales event, the tour is intended to help families become educated consumers by experiencing a variety of communities, care models, lifestyles, amenities, and service offerings.
“One of the biggest challenges families face is simply knowing where to start,” said Marvin Knobloch, Director of Sales and Marketing at Celebration Villa of Summit Hills. “Many people don’t realize the differences between independent living, assisted living, memory care, pricing structures, care services, and community cultures. This tour gives families the opportunity to ask questions, compare options, and gather information that can help them make the best decision for themselves or a loved one.”
As part of the experience, attendees will receive educational materials and guidance on what to evaluate when touring senior living communities, including:
- Staff engagement and resident interaction
- Dining services and meal options
- Safety and emergency preparedness
- Care services and levels of support
- Resident activities and social opportunities
- Apartment options and pricing structures
- Transportation services
- Community culture and overall atmosphere
Families will also learn key questions to ask during community visits, such as:
- How are care needs assessed and adjusted over time?
- What services are included in the monthly rate?
- What additional fees should families expect?
- How are residents engaged socially and emotionally?
- What training do team members receive?
- How does the community communicate with families?
Industry experts often encourage families to begin researching senior living options before an immediate need arises. Touring communities early allows older adults and their loved ones to make thoughtful decisions rather than navigating a crisis situation.
“Whether you’re actively looking for senior living today or simply planning for the future, this tour provides a valuable opportunity to learn,” added Knobloch. “Our goal is for every participant to leave feeling more confident and informed about their options.”
Participants will receive a complimentary tour shirt, swag bag, and refreshments throughout the day. Seating is limited, and advance registration is required.
